QIC has announced another five venture capital (VC)funds for the Queensland Venture Capital Development Fund (QVCDF), which QICmanages.
The newly announced VCs cover priority sectors of B2B SaaS (business-to-business Software-as-a-Service), bio, health, clean energy,AI and climate technology.
The VCDF seeks to accelerate, develop and enhance the venture capital industry in Queensland by investing into local and interstate venture capital funds, which will invest into innovative early-stage Queensland companies.
The VCs include:
- Brandon Capital Partners: Australasia's leading biotech venture capital firm with a track record of investing in promising life sciences research and facilitating the transition of world-leading research into world-leading businesses, including Queensland needle-free vaccine patch innovator Vaxxas and pain relief therapeutic Spinifex.
- Jekara Group: Early-stage venture capital firm partnering with exceptional founders to accelerate the global energy transition, with a team of operational, technical, and financial leaders in cleantech in Australia and US.
- Pollination: Australian venture fund backing breakthrough solutions for the net zero transition and nature positive future.
- Sprint Ventures: Brisbane-based fund with a mission to build a better future, focusing its investments on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors and targeting high-growth sectors including HealthTech, Aged Care, Climate and Infrastructure Tech, AI and Automation..
- Tidal Ventures: Leading operator-led technology investor with a focus on Vertical AI, dedicated to partnering with disruptive early-stage, B2B software companies looking to revolutionise their industries globally.
These funds are in addition to those already announced: Five V Capital, Main Sequence Ventures, AntlerAustralia, Mandalay Venture Partners and Salus Ventures.
